| With the surging disasters for the resent years, every major medium try their best to present an overall and three-dimensional picture of this disaster to the audience. During the disaster relief coverage, media emancipated their minds and removed former restrictions in following ways: firstly, news photography as a means of reportage received unprecedented attention and played quite a role; secondly, the media pursue truth of all-facets more like any others; thirdly, they highlighted the merits of human rising from the disaster.Commencing on the basic exposition of the news photography about disasters, this paper analyzes in detail the effects and values of news photography on disaster news. In the analysis of the improprieties in the photo coverage of the disasters, the paper points out inappropriate actions of some media and communicators during this coverage in the hope of providing references to future disaster reportages. In addition to these analyses, the paper also relates to the ethics issue of the news photography on disasters and interpret the moral responsibilities and choices of the communicators, "gatekeepers" and audience respectively to further clarify their responsibilities. |
