As the rapid progress of industrial automation and the wide-spread application of computer, people's requirements of automation are higher and higher.The availabilities of various control devices and process monitoring devices make it almost impossible for the traditional industrial software to meet the characteristic demands of all kinds of consumers. The traditional industrial control software has obvious shortcomings, such as week flexibility, comparatively long development period, inconvenience to maintain, etc. In order to overcome those disadvantages, configuration software for monitoring comes into being and gains much emphasis.In this thesis, the background, current condition, the future trend, the purpose and develop trend are firstly reviewed.By analyzing the common problem in the current industrial configuration software, the purpose and significance of this research are discussed.Secondly, it illustrates relevant technologies and theory of configuration software. Then it introduces the characters of the process monitoring configuration software. On the basis of analyzing functions of the mainstream current configuration software, sum up the basic functions of the industrial process monitoring configuration software and combine the analysis of user needs and specific requirements forward the entire software design, propose system design programmer.Then, according to the principles of software engineering and the function demands, several function modules are put forward and the development technologies for the visualized environment in configuration software are mainly discussed, including the visualized design terminal, the foundation of the running terminal, configuration system/the design for the graphic unit in configuration, the design for configuration control and the access of the graphic control, etc.. In the development case, a set of practical monitor and control system which has been finished together with some chemical industry is exhibited and its function process is briefly introduced. The finished software platform meets the design demand for the project and the fast and valid control and management platform is provided. Compared with the prevalent configuration software for control and monitor platform at home and abroad, the development case has the advantage characteristics of convenience, better compatibility, easier transplantation, lower system configuration demand and lower cost.Finally, the work is concluded and the further research orientation is pointed out.
