The Hardware-in-the-Loop Simulation (HILS) plays an important role in the development of Unmanned Aircraft Vehicle (UAV) control system, and it is an important step that can not be skiped. The development of simulation system needs much manpower and material resources, and this will cost much in developing the software and hardware.In order to quicken the process of designing the UAV flight control system, this paper develops an HILS system of UAV flight control system to complete the whole process of simulation from modeling to real-time code generating, which is based on the high efficiency dSPACE real-time simulation system.Firstly, this paper discusses the structure of the HILS system of UAV flight control system, and then presents the hardware of dSPACE and the method of developing the HILS system using dSPACE.Secondly, nonlinear six-degree-of-freedom UAV model, the wind turbulence model and the sensor simulation model are built in the Matlab/Simulink environment. Then, the HILS system of UAV flight control system based on dSPACE is built using the Real-Time Interface, and generates the code with Real-Time Workshop.Thirdly, after discussing the function of the platform manager ControlDesk, the software which is used to simulation control and data view is developed.Simultaneity, the software of route display system is developed using the application interface of dSPACE CLib.At last, the correctness of using dSPACE in design simulation system is validated by the HILS. The result of the software design and test of flight control system simulation system shows that the degree of automatization for developing the HILS system is increased and the cost and time used is decreased greatly because of using dSPACE. Furthermore, the dSPACE system has a characteristic of high real-time and high modularization, which are satisfied with the requirement of the design of simulation system.
