The ongoing development of such new technology as multi-media techniques, network techniques and information highway has greatly promoted the modernization of instructional methods. With the establishment of the infrastructural construction of campus network, people's focus has shifted onto the construction of informational instruction environment. It is thus necessary that networking and digital multi-media classroom should be developed. This paper mainly focuses on how to link the 14 multimedia classrooms (including audio-visual classrooms) in charge of different types to turn them into a network-based centralizing monitoring system featured by remote control and state feedback in order to solve the problem of sufficient multimedia classrooms with insufficient audio-visual personnel with the adoption of computer, multimedia and network technology. Through the analysis of the multimedia classrooms, this paper, in accordance with the functional requirement of the central control system, puts forward the concept of modularization and applies it into the project design. The research centers on the following aspects: identifying the requirements analysis of the system, the software and hardware design of the system, the selection and purchasing of the equipments and finally the installation and debugging of the system.Specifically, it tends to realize the network monitoring in multimedia classroom, that is, the following tasks, including the manipulation and management of all teaching facilities in multimedia classrooms, telecommuting and communication with teachers, remote assistance and maintenance to the teacher's or students' computers, full-dimensional shooting with video camera system and compressing and modulating to MPEG4 streaming format as to make it available for the intranet users for live broadcasting or ordering programs, can all be realized in the central control room. From the perspective of software and hardware, this paper carries out a study on the working principles and implementation methods of the main functional modules of the system. It mainly analyzes the design and implementation of software and hardware of the modules, such as classroom management system, teaching system, video-monitoring system and computer-remote management and maintenance. Meanwhile, it also achieves the whole process, including the equipment building, module segmentation and installation and debugging. With the application of the existing technique to carry out the relevant modularization integration, it meets the requirement and realizes the application of the construction of the informational teaching environment based on the campus network. The achievements of this research and practice are as follows:(1) As to multimedia classrooms of different types, this paper puts forward the concept of modularization segmentation to construct multimedia classrooms of different types through the distinct combinations of the standard models.(2) Introducing modularization segmentation to central control system, it controls and manages different modules and then to combine them to form the system.(3) After theoretical analyzing and designing the whole central control system, it proves the feasibility and maneuverability of the system through the practical application of the installation and debugging of the equipments. In addition, it improves the central control system after problems come out during the whole process. The whole system with the good stability, security, compatibility and subsequent scalability has achieved the design requirements. Now it has been put into operation and achieved the desired effect.
