Using the advantages of web and video technology, the video-on-demand system changes the traditional passive way of teaching, implementes on-demand study and arbitrary playing of the teaching content, and through a set of motion video, static pictures, sounds, text and other information for one, provides interactive and video-on-demand teaching service for students users.The paper designed and implemented the system - Multimedia Teaching-VOD System based on B/S structure,to make full use of teaching resource.This system can be divided into two subsystems - Acquisition of Multimedia Production System and Multi-media Teaching-demand System.Acquisition of multimedia production system implements the real-time acquisition and production of classroom live teaching.It compounds audio streaming and video streaming of the teacher as a package-.asf media file. At the same time,it captures the PC screen streaming and make another asf media file. It is implemented by using screen-capture filter, which developed by ATL technology, and DirectShow and VC6.0 development environment; Multi-media teaching-demand system configurates releases video files for students'demand and designs a browser-demand system to provide kinds of services,such as video files uploading and management, video-on-demand, the users'communication and so on. It is implemented with .net 2.0 development environment. The SQL SERVER 2000 is used as the database for the system.Most important, the system can simultaneously display the three-way streaming media for the users, and reproduce the classroom live teaching well.And the paper conducted a more in-depth exposition on audio and video capture, web-based multimedia synchronization, and other key technologies.Experimental results show that this system is easy to use and cost less , and the teaching video files produced by the system are played clearly and smoothly with good performance and synchronization.And they are easy to reuse.
