With the rapid growth of the medical imaging technology, the content of the medical objects are more enriching than ever before. It is difficult for the doctor to use this information accurately and effetely. They can not easy to grasp the physiological, pathological and characteristics of the geometry of space around the space between biological tissue. With the rapid development of computer technology and scientific computing visualization, people can use the abundant impliedly information in an intuitive, vivid, effect way. Visualization of the medical objects means process the medical properties in static or dynamic three-dimensional space. It has a wide range of applications in clinical diagnosis, treatment, teaching and research. In recent years, the medical objects visualization of the international community has been a hot one of the study.Nowadays we often use CT scanners or MRI scanners to generate 12 bit volume data, but commonly used displays are only capable of handling 8 bit data. So if we want to view these volume data on the typically scanners, we must down sampled these 12 bit date to 8 bit, this down sampled is usually means some details will lose. In this paper, we propose a novel 3D volume data windowing method that is based on methods have been used in 2D image processing. Likes dodging and burning, tone mapping and so on. By the medium of this map, the contract of mapped 8 bit volume datasets is significantly enhanced and the typically scenario can easily windowing high dynamic range.
