Research And Development On Chair Design Tool Based On Ergonomics In Pro/Engineer's Environment

Chair is closely linked to people's life ,no matter working,studying,traveling or resting at home, we cannot live without chair. whether it is designed in reason it does matter to the comfort and health of the sitting person. In order to design a chair which is totally meet people's demand , Ergonomics should be considered sufficiently. When doing the traditional chair design, The designer only had to through reading enchiridion,relative literature and many publications or getting help from expert can they get enough information. This manner affects not only the designer's efficiency but also the products'quality.In the face of status quo about chair design, This paper adopt Pro/E system as its's supported environment and devise a module of chair's main truss's creating based on Ergonomics. It has some application reaserch meaning and practicality value. This module adopt re_development tool of Pro/Toolkit, use Top_down design method based on layout, parametric drive the main Seat dimension according to Ergonomics. the method of chair truss automatic build was realized ,the working efficiency of the designer was improved and the chair's main truss's reasonable ergonomics trait was assured.The module of Chair's main truss design has the function of parametric drive chair regeneration according to choosing the different sitting person or user defined input of dimension. It is convenience for its operation,the interface has the nicer characteristic of interaction between person and machine. The Industry designer can sculpt chair based on main truss,and the structure engineer can do further work about the chair'structure. For the later work of chair design is based on chair's truss which is totally accord with the dimension parameters between person and machine,so the final chair should meet the demands of Ergonomics.This paper does explore on the creating method of backrest curve in Pro/E's environment, The data of curve adopted in this paper is based on known _assumption, it will does some reference value to backrest's shape design.
