The rapid development of Internet has greatly promoted the application of web technology in the robot control field. The most popular among the robot control modes is the remote control of mobile robots. The robot control system has developed gradually from the simple control of the simple mechanic equipment in a different place to the remote control of semi-intelligent and intelligent robots, as well as to the distribution control system. In the period of development, new contents such as information merging, simultaneous monitoring and online imitation are added.This paper does more analyses and researches in detail on hardware components, software frameworks, control methods, research classifications, network communication protocols, development environment, image manipulation, system security of the existing remote control robot system based on the Internet, and also sums up the current level of the research and the direction of the development.Based on the need of the research and the condition of the experimentation, this paper introduces a sort of three layers system's frame combine web technique and robot server, implement communications between web server and robot emluator. The project adopts a single of the web server and a wireless control mobile robot, which is made up one to one remote supervisory control system. Simultaneity, adopt an open-source robot system to validate the results of the experiment. Then, make the Java Applet program embed into the customer's terminal unit. Via communication between Applet and Servlet, implement efficiency of data transfer, exchange, parsing and storage, achieve the aim of robot control in different areas. Moreover, as the project supports several languages, one can use different development languages to design control programs and give instructions. With these features, the control system established will be pretty flexible, transplantable and reconfigurable. The meaning of realization and the difficulties of technology have been also mentioned in this paper. Then, this paper analyzes the network time-delay problem existing in the most remote control robot system based on the J2EE, and discusses the feasibility and rationality of some methods, such as TCP multiplexing technique and UDP reliability optimize, Smith forecast control method and the technology called IP QoS, reliability of data transfer responsible for the net in the future.Finally, we conclude with discussions of all the work having been done and discuss some ideas for future work.
