Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (POLSAR) can provide accurate digital topographic measurement in all weather conditions day and night. POLSAR inherits the advantages and breaks the limits of SAR. It is a hotspot in SAR field. Simulation plays an important role in POLSAR research and development. On one hand, Simulation technique is helpful in testing the performance of algorithms; on the other hand, it is very helpful in POLSAR image decomposition and classifying optimization as well as system design and optimization. This dissertation has probed into POLSAR simulation in deep, and provided a more reasonable structure for realizing the POLSAR simulator.First, this dissertation is organized to provide an overview of the POLSAR theory and some factors that affect the back-scatter coefficient, which the basic theory for the next chapter.Second, the time-domain method is used to generate the POLSAR raw signal of point target. Then its POLSAR image is got by standard RD algorithm.Last, the Kirchhoff approximation and facet model with the combination of the POLSAR parameter are used to evaluate the Polarimetric backscattering coefficient maps. The building containing double-scattering is also studied in this dissertation. PO-GO approximation is adopted to calculate the Polarimetric backscattering coefficient maps of building. Then, the double-scatter Polarimetric backscattering coefficient maps is validated by OEC decomposing algorithm. The results show that the simulation proposed in this dissertation is valid, which can compass correct fact that affects the POLSAR system. This simulation procedure can well represent the characteristics of POLSAR system, and it is foreseen to be of worthy use in some field in future works.
