Camshaft is one of the key parts of the engine, which is widely used in automobiles, motorcycles, and other machinofacture industries. As the development of the automobile industry and the growing competition in the market, every car manufacturers or auto parts manufacturers were zealous in their efforts to make lower cost and greater profits. Optimizing the logistics system is effective to improve profits.The average output of the camshaft in china is more than 50 million each year and its increasing speed per annum is between 20% and 30%. If the arrangement of the product line is reasonable and the physical distribution is unhindered, it may yield big profit for the manufactory. Meanwhile it can ease labour, embody the principle of humanization and ensure efficiency and fairness simultaneously.This paper was written with the project which optimized the camshaft production logistics system. With remodeling workshop layout based on object specialization and using system simulation examination, it can ensure the production logistics smoothly in the workshop, increase productivity, reduce labor intensity of workers and reduce the production costs. The main research contant are as following:(1)Data collection of the camshaft production logistics system and analysis of the present statusThe basic production data in the camshaft workshop was measured with the methods of MOD and stopwatch measuring. On the basis of investigation, analysis of logistics system, these problems were found: obsolete equipment, decreaseing production, disordered logistics, unreasonable layout, unbalanced production line, unscientific transport method, ureasonable production scheduling. So the systems need to be optimized.(2)Strategic innovation research based on the camshaft production logistics system Based on present status of the systems, some improvements have been put forward: reconfiguring the layout based on the principle of logistics cost minimization and the use of theGenetic algorithms (GA) in the Multi-line layout; optimizing transport of workpiece and bottleneck process based on the process flow analysis method; researching the minimization arithmetic of Fmax in the operation schedule of camshaft production line based on constraint of switching time.(3)Constructing the systematical simulation verification model based on Flexsim First, constructed a systematical simulation verification model, then according the model, construct a Petri net model of the camshaft production logistics system and made the analysis of system execution and system function; Constituting the mapping rules between the Petri net and the three-dimensional model to Flexsim, then accomplish the mapping; Last, constructing the systematical simulation verification model based on Flexsim and optimizing it.
