A Study Of Methods And Demonstrations On Coastline Image Feature Extraction

According to the basic theory of coastal zone and coastline, and focusing on the theme of extracting the remote sensing image feature on coastline, this article makes some studies as follows based on the basic principles of wavelet analysis and the former research results.Firstly, the study focus on the coastline edge detection operator research with the combination of the traditional basis research results on image edge extraction, and analysis its experimental results comparatively. Secondly, a coastline extraction method based on the wavelet analysis on high-resolution remote sensing images was proposed with the wavelet theory and methods, it brings forward the feasibility and superiority of using image processing tool MATLAB. Finally, it brings forward the course of coastline extraction from high resolution remote sensing imagery with multi-scale wavelet analysis method. In according to image's characters, the superiority of the wavelet analysis method which is applied to this field is proved in the empirical study.
