Private archives are integral part of national archival resources, while those which have preservative value for nation or society' requires to be managed legally. With the establishment of the system of socialistic market economy, private archives appear a tendency of rapid rise, which calls for reinforced management. Based upon the survey of related theory and practice, the author probes into the framework in managing private archives and explores three primary systemsin it, namely systems of supervision, market and personal involvement.The supervisory system is the key in the management of private archives, including four elements:supervisory subject, object , content and means .The archival administrative departmentsupervises private archives covering origination, safekeeping and shifting. Considering the medium organization is an effective functional cell in market system, the author regards the archives medium organization as the cut-in point of market system in managing private archives. The thesis then analyzes its use and requirements for perfection, and thus makes it the supplement of other system to serve for the effective management of private archives. Personalinvolvement system is the foundation of the management of private archives.The family archives and private archives is a starting point in this article.
