Analysis And Research On The Coverage Performance Of The WCDMA Radio Access Network

Along with the stepwise progression of the employment of 3G network from the planning stage stepped into the implementation stage,an specified definition of the KPI of network has attained an enlarging significance from the network operators before their large-scale construction of networks.During the invitation of public bidding stage,the KPI of networks is functioning as the basis of defining the objectives of the network employment.Moreover,the KPI of networks is also used as a criteria for the evaluation of networks during the checking and accepting stage,and even last to the optimizing stage.Based solidly on the well-understanding of the employment of WCDMA networks,this thesis has done a constructive work on analyzing the KPI of WCDMA radio access network,discussing the basic theories and methods of defining the KPI,distinctively differentiate the various KPI that are suitable for the relevant situations and the corresponding periods of network construction,and contributing substantially on the construction and the safety operation of WCDMA networks.At the beginning,this thesis delineates the outline of the KPI of radio access network,with an delicate explanation on the ways of defining the indexes and evaluating the network performance,from the aspects of network coverage.Then,this thesis makes a considerable efforts on the theoretical calculation procedure of the KPI,including the procedure of defining and calculating of the indexes,such as network parameters,frequency coverage, system load,and network operation,and putts forward some constructive suggestions on the network optimization with respect to each index.Then, based on the theoretical analysis,this thesis provides the propositional values of the KPI of WCMDA radio access network,using the testing data of both the abroad commercial networks and the mainland tentative networks. Finally,this thesis practically validates,through the computer stimulation,the movement of the trend of the influences played on the KPI by some key factors,this thesis also provide several coverage scheme of radio access network and give a deep analysis on network optimization.
