With the consumption of fossil fuels and their serious impact on the environment, the wind energy with the advantages of clean and can be recycled for use is growing importance to many countries. The blade of wind turbine is an important part. The paper has carried on the preliminary research discussion to the design and technology of computer numerical control for small wooden horizontal axis wind turbine blade,on the purposes of exploring a kind of wooden small blades for off-grid horizontal axis wind turbine which is suit to the areas that are rich in wind.1. The model of blade design is simple and practical. Compared with many kinds of design models, the new model was considered as optimization design method to design the pitch and the chord of the blade. the model was simple and precise, and the designed blade is streamline.2. The precise 3D blade. Transforming the three dimensional coordinate on the basis of the data of the aerofoil. The 3D model was drawn with Rhino 3D. On one hand, the precise model was convenient for further analysis; on the other hand, the method provided a reference for drawing blades and other analog complicated structures precisely.3. Computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and computer numerical control (CNC) process. The processing program was designed after drawing the configuration of the wooden wind turbine blade and connected to CNC machine for carrying out a series of operations on the wood piece. The end product was manufactured as the expectation cosmetically and functionally, which verified the potential applications of CAD/CAM and CNC machine in the designs and manufactures of complex wood products.4. The simulation and calculation is carried on using the general fluid software Fluent. The velocity profile and pressure distribution are acquired, and some important fluxion phenomenon is obtained. Some important conclusions, such as movement of work conditions under the circumstances of rated wind speed. The results of simulation are analyzed thoroughly. Some worthy information is provided for the design of blade. Some reference for the further research is offered at the same time.
