Combined with multimedia information, computer interaction,distribution of communication and real-time of monitoring,Video Surveillance System is an integrated system.The current development of the system takes the form of even digital,networking,intelligence and integration.Aimed to design a Digital Video Surveillance System,this thesis summarized the developments and correlative techniques of current systems and proposed the key techniques(Davinci,H.264 encoding and RTP streamming) to resolve the current problems.Davinci technology is a specialized solution for digital video applications,based on signal processing.It provides integrated processors, softwares, tools and supports to simplify the design and accelerate product innovation for video equipment manufacturers.Based on DM6446 processor and combined with CE(Codec Engine), this paper put forword the design method of system architecture on both hardware and software for the Digital Video Server(DVS).H.264/AVC has become a new generation of international video compression standard for its high coding efficiency and good network compatibility, which is enacted by ITU-T and ISO/IEC Joint Working Group. It has a very broad application prospects in the area of digital media. This paper in detail described the transplantation and optimization process of the H.264 video encoding algorithm in davinci platform.By taking full advantage of the DSP hardware capability and using various optimized methods, the performance of original encoding algorithm was improved significantly. This paper finally realized a real-time H.264 encoder on the Davinci platform.RTP/RTCP provides end-to-end transmission,timing reconstruction, frame loss detection,data security,congestion control,and other services for real-time data over multicast or unicast network.This thesis designed a media streamming system by analyzing the RTP/RTCP protocol and the payload format for H.264 video.Also,it put forword an efficient strategy for network control.The system provided a nice network bearer platform for video monitoring.This thesis also expatiated the way of designing a real-time player based on the DirectShow technology, thereby completing the whole system. This system basically achieved success by testing and realized the combination of technologies of embedded rea-time system,networking, multi-media encoding and Davinci.
