The Research On Intergrated Performance Measurement And Evaluation Of Campus Network

As the campus network continues to expand, the campus network managers manage and maintain the network facilities within the campus network, provide access services to the campus network users, web services, ftp services, E-mail services etc. Therefore, the campus network managers have higher demands for measuring and evaluating the campus network performance.On the basis of fully analyzing the existing performance evaluation system and integrating the characteristics of campus management, this thesis intends to explore a performance comprehensive evaluation model which is suitable for the campus network performance. This model investigates the campus network performance from link performance, end-to-end performance and service performance; it employs a tree to define evaluation target and metrics in the campus network performance and confirm the performance metrics and measurement methods; it brings forward a integrated evaluation method with multi-level and hierarchical multiple evaluation metrics to integrated evaluate the campus network performance. It is possible for campus managers to make the multi-levels of the campus performance and integrated evaluation, also to present the campus network performance from different perspectives and levels that are helpful to discover and position performance bottlenecks.The measurement based on two-way Active Measurement Protocol (TWAMP) realized in this thesis eliminates the restrictions of clock synchronization, and it is easier to implement on the campus network. Network tomography technology can infer link performance metrics without additional deployment. In this thesis, based on this technology and the RTT measurement, the link performance conjecture in the campus network can be achieved. Taking performance of the protocol as the measure object and by using the active measurement methods, this thesis intends to implement the services performance measurement.Finally, based on WEB technology, this thesis develops a campus network performance measurement system for campus network. With B/S technology, this network performance management system fully takes the advantages of B/S model; greatly enhances the network management ability and implements regular monitor and real-time observation on the campus network.
