Digital TV is the trend of future TV development. So in the transition period from analogue to digital, video post-processing IC is very important. The core algorithms of video post-processing IC are de-interlacing, frame rate conversion, noise reduction and various image enhancement methods .This paper bases on the important algorithms of video post-processing IC. Firstly, this paper discusses the functions of existing video post-processing IC and the status and development trend of video post-processing research all over the world. Then, this paper introduce existing video post-processing algorithm, such as video format conversion, scan rate conversion, de-interlacing, frame rate conversion, image enhancement, noise reduction etc. Furthermore, by studying and analyzing the edge information of interlaced video image and the type and distribution of noise, this paper presents a improved de-interlaced algorithm and noise reduction algorithm for hardware implementation which base on the existing algorithms. Software simulation shows improved algorithms have good effects. The improved de-interlacing algorithm solve the flickering problem and the improved noise reduction algorithm solve the trail. problem Finally, the future work of algorithms hardware implementation is also been discussed. |
