With the growing competition of the manufactory market,customers ask for more demands of the quality of the products and the delivery date. As the first part of the manufactory fields, the planning and scheduling problem in the foundry department plays an important role in both the quality and the delivery date of the products. As a result, it attracts more attention from the industry and the academia. Planning and scheduling are the key problem to make production more efficient, more flexible and more reliable in a workshop. The efficient planning and scheduling method and technology are becoming the bases of advanced manufacturing technology. Therefore the paper discusses and develops the workshop planning and scheduling system for enterprises of batch production type in integrated environment on the basis of YIZHENG SHUANGHUAN PISTON RING CO., LTD.(CYPR)After doing a research on the foundry department, I have developed an algorithm for the company and then implemented it. In the department, the ability of mould is insufficient, so we have to adjust the products in the furnace to meet our demands. There are three large modules in our system: the furnace forming module, the judging ability of the mould module and the adjusting module. And there are four classes in our program: order class, material class, furnace class and the furnace loading class. First, we find ways to form a furnace, and then judge whether the moulds can meet our demands, if it is ok, then getting this furnace, otherwise, make adjustment. The principle of adjustment is to choose products as much as possible which are used to place the products whose moulds are in shortage.Simultaneously, from the point of engineering realization of the production planning and scheduling system, we divided the system into several functional modules. C# is used as the desktop tool in clients and SQL 2000 is used as the database management system in server.The heuristic algorithm developed is used to overcome the weakness of the department which uses the manual scheduling. The efficiency is improved greatly. The system has adopted by the foundry department of CYPR, and it works very well with high efficiency.
