PCC (Programming Computer Controller) was introduced as the new generation control system by B&R Austria, and now it has widely used in industrial control fields. PCC has large advantages comare to normal PLC (Programming Logic Controller) because of its time-sharing, multi-task operation system and the support of advanced language programming. PCC controls flexibilly and can control the complex tasks that can not be done by normal PLC.By the growing of industrial control requirements, industrial Ethernet has become a remarkable research hotspot in industrial control application fields and has a brilliant perspective due to its advantage of fast speed, excellent performance, stability and liability. However, many kinds of industrial Ethernet solution exit in the market and there is no unique standard, which onbstructs the development of industrial Ethernet. B&R industrial Ethernet solution Ethernet Powerlink is one of the international standards of IEC61158 and IEC61784-2, and is maintenanced and popularized by EPSG, which makes the nice foundation in industrial control application.This article studies the control system for silicon steel pieces cross cutting machine based on B&R PCC and Ethernet Powerlink. The silicon steel pieces cutting machine has complex control tasks, which puts forward high requirements for control system, especially the machine's feeding system, width adjustment system and stacking system. This article makes the following jobs according to the project:First, it finishes the design of hardware planform for silicon steel pieces cross cutting machine control system. This article briefly analizes the advantages and disadvantages for some kinds of popular industrial Ethernet solution in the market, and selects the propor industrial Ethernet ---- Ethernet Powerlink according to the requirements of machine to the control network, also it makes brief description to Ethernet Powerlink mechanism. This article selects B&R PCC system as main control platform to realize complicated control because the machine has many axies to control and complex process. Bases on the decision of control network and main control platform, this article finishes the hardware design for machine's feeding system, width adjustment system, stacking system and turn-head control system, also it selects slice I/O module X20 to realize machine's discrete control, which bases on X2X technology. Then the whold hardware platform for control system is decided.Second, it finishes the control program design bases on the above hardware platform. Because B&R PCC uses time-sharing multi-task operation system, control program uses modularization concept, and it makes different program to realize different function, also it makes different cycle time according to the importance, e.g. axies control program, manual mode control program, auto mode control program, feeding system arithmetic program, stacking system control program etc. Because B&R PCC supports IEC61131-3 and advanced language programming, the control program uses ladder program to realize machine's simple logic control, and uses ANSI C language to realize complicated axies control and arithmetic. Also it makes the popularization human machine interface bases on the control program. After confirmation by practice, the control program meets the design specification.Finally, it finishes the motion control system's design for machine's feeding system, width adjustment system and stacking system by PI control arithmetic, which match the design specification by practice confirmation.
