Qualitative spatial reasoning generated by combining qualitative reasoning, spatial reasoning and Artificial Intelligence(AI)is a significant direction in the research of AI.Qualitative Spatial Reasoning has diffusely applied in spatial data query,qualitative navigation and GIS etc in recent years.Qualitative navigation problems(virtual human navigation,the robot navigation), as an application area of the Qualitative Spatial Reasoning,have gradually become a new research hotspot.The contents included in this paper are listed as follows:(1)A new representation model for qualitative spatial relations,namely Region Sphere Extension Calculus(RSEC),is proposed,and a formalism metrization method taking spatial sphere region as a basic unit is also put forward.RESC not only expands the topological relations from RCC-8 to RCC-9,but also describes multiple spatial relations including distances,directions etc in at flexible and various granularities,etc.(2)Based on the proposed Region Sphere Extension Calculus model,a new amalgamation reasoning technology of qualitative spatial relations is proposed according to the composition table and constraint handle rules(CHRs),additionally, amalgamation reasoning of qualitative spatial relation is achieved by using logic programming language.(3)A new method for qualitative navigation is proposed.By applying qualitative spatial reasoning to qualitative navigation,the agent can reach the goal by the autonomy inference according to qualitative spatial relations,without knowing the concrete position of goal object.The research in this paper improves the representation ability of RCC for spatial relations,expands application range of the theory RCC,provides an approach which can integrate qualitative representation of spatial relations with metrization,and amalgamates the representation and reasoning of qualitative spatial relations.It also provides an effective feasible path for qualitative navigation. |
