PID control is used widely in many kinds of industry circumstance for its simple algorithm,high reliability and good robustness. Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) algorithm is a new kind of evolutionary computation. The PSO algorithm has been widely applied in function optimization and shows great potential prospect in practice.The basic PSO algorithm can be divided into its own factor and the social factor. In the earlier evolution the own factor should be given more consideration to make the algorithm have the high search ability of obtaining the appropriate seed. In the later period, in order to make the scheme have the high development ability to obtain the convergence rate, the social factor plays an important role. Based on this fact, two coefficientsφ12 are added in this thesis to enhances the optimized performance of the PSO. The essence of parameter adjustment for the PID controller is one kind of function optimization problem, so the PSO algorithm can be applied to the PID parameter installation.This thesis first introduced the basic PSO algorithm principle and the mainly involved method improving the PSO algorithm, then outlined the PID controller's elementary theory and the common method which is used for PID controller parameter optimization, finally proposed one kind improved PSO algorithm, based on the analysis of the basic PSO algorithm, succeeding to raise its convergence rate and the optimization precision. Furthermore, the provided method was proved feasible by its application to the PID controller parameter installation and was of better superiority through the MATLAB simulation.
