At present,many researchers have the 3-D display system as a potential in the next generation of display systems. In today's research in the field of 3-D display system,CGH technology is the most notable characteristics. CGH technology can accurately show three-dimensional objects light. Since the birth of holography, the CGH technology will be becoming the ultimate 3-D display system. For this reason, we have chosen the 3-D display system of the CGH as a research problem. In the paper, we study on the hardware design of the 3-D display system of CGH, The design of USB interface in three-dimensional display of Computer-Generated Holography based on the chip PDIUSBD12, and the firmware design of USB interface and so on. The main points of this thesis are as follows:1. A Method for encoding and displaying a computer-generated hologram (CGH) based on USB interface and a liquid crystal spatial light modulator controlled by a MCU and a DSP is proposed .In this method the three-dimensional object information is transferred through the USB interface at first, then the CGH of the object is encoded by the DSP and the encoded CGH is displayed on the spatial light modulator controlled by the MCU. The scheme and the flow chart of the system used to realize this method are given. A detailed design of the USB interface of the system based on the PDIUSBD12 chip and W78C438 chip is also discussed.2. We have understood about the protocol of USB1.1and USB2.0 through studying the design of the USB interface. Based on this, we design the hardware and the firmware of USB interface. In theory, the rate of USB1.1 is 12Mbit/s, except that the expending of deliberation, and the time of CPU processing interrupt response, etc.PDIUSBD12 is measured the rate of the USB transfer about 218KByte/s, this not only provide a common, convenient and reliable solutions for the transmission of data in large quantities, but also lay a good foundation for the future of high-speed data processing and display. 3. Through studying the driving principle of the LCD, we have known about it. In the circuit, we adopt the LCD screen and the associated driver IC used Japan SONY company's products. By knowing about LCX029CNT screen(it supports XGA (1024×768) high-resolution display), CXA3512R sample / hold drives, CXD3500R clock generator, phase-locked loop CXA3106Q and GAMMA adjustment CXA2111R.we have designed the hardware circuit of the LCD driver.
