Recently,there are more and more research on Digital Television. Many universities and companies get into the field of Digital Television. In August 2006, China has released Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting Standard, which is effective from August 2007. The Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting will be widely used. The research on Digital Television Terrestrial Broadcasting will boost the industry of Digital Television and the high-tech industry in China.In wireless communication systems, ISI is produced by multipath. Generally, equalizer technique is used to eliminate ISI. Decision delay parameter is very important in auto adaptive equalizer. A proper decision delay parameter will improve the output SNR of an equalizer. The determining of decision delay parameter is discussed in this paper and the frame synchronization, which controls the decision delay parameter, is also discussed. In DTTB Standard, there are three Frame Head modes: PN420, PN595 and PN945.In this paper, the development of digital television and modulation are introduced briefly. The frame structure in the Standard is also introduced. This paper researched the determining of optimum decision delay parameter and frame synchronization.There are two contributions in this paper. One is giving a method of determining decision delay parameter in special kind of channel. Using a general time-sequence-based simulator, we prove that the method can improve the performance of equalizer. The other contribution is to give two frame synchronization algorithms according to the frame structure defined in the Standard. It has been tested in several kinds of channels, which shows that the algorithm is robust and can improve the performance of receiver.
