With the increasing complexity of modern radar systems, field testing costs getting higher and higher. As a new branch of radar domain, a radar simulator is more and more applied to the testing and radar development, it has gradually become a hot item of the radar domain.Radar ship navigation system has the same field test question as an integral part of VTS. In order to effectively improve the efficiency of VTS system development, shorten the development cycle, but also to facilitate the VTS system testing and teaching research work, the ship navigation radar echoes simulation is of great realistic significance. This issue can be directly serve for the design of the radar signal simulator, can be used radar echo signals research and radar sea clutter statistical research, can be provided to radar system design, signal processing algorithm optimization, performance simulation, system testing, and other services.This paper studies the radar echo signal waveform, with theoretical analysis of the radar echo signal mathematical model to simulate the radar echo, and the simulation results are signal's form. This paper realize the radar echo signal analysis and modeling from three aspects: contain the target echo, sea clutter, rain clutter and noise. The video signal mathematical model is derived from radar equation, which includes main parameters of radar video signal. The final video signal mathematical expression is completed by the parameters establishing model. Combine different occasions and analog simulation needs of sea clutter under different conditions and the extent of the distribution of spectrum distribution, discuss the different application of white sequence and color sequence for sea clutter, given the distribution of the four main sea clutter of the simulation model and simulation results. Rain clutter and internal noise from receiver have also been carried out. Finally, the simulation is the radar echo of the simulation results.
