Life Cycle assessment (LCA) is used to evaluate the environmental effects of a product, process or activities in the entire life cycle from raw materials acquisition, manufacturing use and transportation to final disposition. LCA is an environment management tool and thought brought forward by the series of ISO14000 Standards for environment management, which is significant to raise the level of environmental management and realize the sustainable development in the end.The implementation of LCA requires a great quantity of data. On average a project of LCA needs as many as 100,000 data whose acquisition cost a great deal of time and energy. Variety of data sources and complexity of data transactions mean that computer software would be an effective tool which can't only deal with data accurately and quickly but also store information for other use.In order to have the practicability and maneuverability of LCA, on the basis of studying LCA theories or methods intensively, we develop LCA system of data management in this paper, which aims at domestic user. The system has three characteristics as follows:1. Differed from stand-alone system used widely in the world that can only solve the LCA application in single section, it evaluates the environmental effects facing the web.2. The system can not only store detailed list data, but also can even make use of these data to carry on the influence evaluation of the environment or resources.3. The system evaluates the environmental effects not only using quantitative analysis method, but also using the qualitative analysis method in the lack of data.The main contents of our research include the following items:1. Build up the database of life cycle inventory of product.2. Implement the access of database of life cycle inventory via using access technique of web database.3. Build up the terrace of the characterization of Life Cycle Impact Assessment (LCIA) and quantitative analysis through equivalency model and analytic hierarchy process.4. Build up the expert system of LCIA which using the qualitative analysis model to evaluate the environmental effects.5. Making the system to assess the environment capability of automobile engine connection rods.
