Synthetic aperture microwave radiometer has a very good foreground in remote sensing and object detecting. Synthetic aperture radiometer applies the interferometric principle to sample in the spatial frequency domain and retrieves the image by Fourier or other numerical transformation. It's easy to detect object, but complex to track object. Adaptive array can easily track object, if a system can use both synthetic aperture and adaptive array technique, the system will be better to detect and track object. This paper studies how to arrange an adaptive array and how to find the best weights of an adaptive array under a synthetic aperture array. First this paper studies the algorithm of how to arrange an adaptive array: adding some antenna in the synthetic aperture array, and using genetic algorithm to decide the add position. Study result indicates that after using genetic algorithm to arrange an adaptive array, the biggest side lobe of the array can fall three dB.This paper also studies the application of Olen & Compton algorithm in varied line arrays. Study result indicates that after using Olen & Compton algorithm in uniformity line array and little thinned array, the biggest side lobe of the array can fall ten dB; after using Olen & Compton algorithm in synthetic aperture array, the biggest side lobe of the array can fall one dB.Finally, this paper combined the genetic algorithm and the Olen & Compton algorithm together, forming a synthesis algorithm. Study result indicates that after using synthesis algorithm in synthetic aperture array, the biggest side lobe of the array can fall six dB, falling once than just using genetic algorithm or the Olen & Compton algorithm.
