By using advanced technologies as computer multimedia, networks, digital wireless communication etc., it brings about a revolution in city street lamp management and control,We have designed and realized a street lamp monitor and control system and it's match software, based on research on the actuality of civil cities street lamp management and the requirements of their automatic control. The system is composed of a monitor center and many monitor substations, and its private communication network is composed of digital wireless stations. The monitor software is a typical SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition System), as well as has some function of MIS (Management Information System). Running the monitor software on the center, the system could manage all the city street lamps centralized and effectively. Firstly, this paper introduces the background, application actuality and researching goal of street lamp monitor and control system. Then, the system framework and hardware equipments are introduced concisely. Consequently, the theory and practical application of configuration software technology is introduced. The main function module design, database design and realization and main function coding is expatiated in succession. In the end, the paper makes a summarization and a development expectation for the system.
