The insect is an extremely huge group in the animal kingdom, the number of insect is larger than the sum of all other animal class groups, the number of already recorded and named probably 1,000,000 kinds. Digitizate the insect's classified material ,which have already discovered and named at present and establishes one insect classification and query material database based on network,will be strengthens the insect classification material management and it's very important for sharing the insect classification resources,meanwhile, it has the important reference value to the beneficial insect's use and the harmful insect's prevent and control. The collection of"Chinese Fauna·Insect Outline"provided us the authoritative material about the aspect of insect classified. Using the computer web technology and the database technology, realizes these authoritative material networking and digitizing is the important way for sharing the insect classification resources.This system has implemented the insect various kinds query function (include basic query ,combination query and the region query); Using the similarity between the insect's identification key and the binary tree of the data organization, to bring out the differentiate from the insect's character to species; The function of the cellphone to get on the Internet, causes by the cellphone to register the WAP net become possibly, this system mature this extreme popular tool, to emply the method of the WEB and the WAP sharing the insect database from the server end, the user may carries on through the WWW to alternately with the server, and also may use the cellphone to logging in the WAP net, satisfies the user who inconvenient to registers the WWW net, thus broke through the space and time limitation, realizes the insect's information hundred-percent sharing; This system recur to the Google Maps API ,which is the domestic and foreign mainstream WebGis interface, to completes the system development work, when query a insect's distribution,the system can generate the distribution spot dynamicly on the map, compares to append the hot spot of some network ,it has more dynamic; Moreover, in order to convenient for the insect scholar when they egressed inspect, this system provided the inspection route function; The expert outpatient service let the user and the expert had a platform which they can exchange mutually; The news and posts has provided the research profession news for the user, is advantageous for the user to usderstand the newest reasearch tendency of the insect and the correlation domain; The data maintenance is very improtant for a system can display the biggest effect, the supervisor of this system except carries on the regular maintenance to the database, accession the new species information and verification the accession information and data correct,but also must reply the user's questions which submit through the WWW and the WAP net,to issues the news and posts and so on.
