Study And Design Of RPG Instructional Game Based On JAVA

With the development of computer and network technology, a serious of digital study are attacking the traditional teaching and learning mode. The Instructional Game is causing widespread concern among educationalist, and it was considered as the best teaching way to stimulate the learner's motive. Although a large number of Instructional Game products have been presented to the public, but the type is scarce, the quality is irregular, the method of development has not unified standard, have more and more could not satisfy the market.This paper firstly elaborated the concept of"Instructional Game". Instructional Game development tools will be divided into three categories with its characteristic and classification. According to the goal, the scale and the type, we can choose the appropriate developmental tool, and this paper proposed the general Instructional Game development process.In order to balance and integrate the education and the game, this paper presented a Web-based RPG Instructional Game model. This model divided the Instructional Game into game scripting system, database system, cooperation and competition, appraisal mechanism, help system, rewards and punishment mechanism and communication system etc. Each part mutually cooperate to be will constitute an integral Instructional Game.Finally, the author designed and developed an elementary Instructional Game "Digital Journey to the West" on the basis of the above model and JAVA technology. This paper described the entire development process, including Demand Analysis, System Design, Detail Design. The main module and the key technology used in game development (such as scripting system, communication of network game, etc.) have done a thorough study.
