Network Measurement can be used to inspect the performance Level of a certain protocol or an application used in the Internet. Network performance measurement and detailed analysis help to identify the "bottlenecks" of network performance. Once the identified performance problems have been solution, we will be able to develop better performance of the new protocol.With the scale of the next generation Internet networks further expanding, network traffic growth, and Ipv6 and IPv4 co-existing, network measurement is also facing new issues.The use of the active technology of network measurement and IP timestamp option can force the data packet with IP timestamp option to sent from source IP to Objective IP, Then, each data packet record the the router's current time in IP timestamp option following routing. The responsed data packets that are replicated IP option from arrived data packet in the Objective IP return to the original IP. After data processing and analysis of data packet with IP option, network status and performance information can be gained.This article research Implementation of IP protocol and ICMP protocol on Linux System, proposed the solution of LUS algorithm and programm a network measurement procedures that be able to correct statistics the utilization of the link in the network.
