Web services, which is emerging as a novel Web application pattern,is a new distributed computing modle,an effective mechanism integrating data and information on the web, a very good solution to high maintenance and high update costs in the e-commerce field, and become the most reasonable solution in current environments. However, because most of the current framework for Web services are based on keyword matching, Web service which contains semantics multiplicity still cannot realize service discovery and binding automatically. To solve the lack of efficient discovery mechanism for web services, a semantic web technology based web services discovery approach is proposed. The thesis builds a semantic based index in the services registry to improve the lower matching efficiency of traditional services semantic matchmaking model. And then pays more attention to the key technologies, including the establishment of food domain ontology to materialize semantic information, the re-design of the service semantic description model on the foundation of OWL-S, the proposing of the multilayer flexible matchmaking mechanism according to the model. The thesis analyzes the characteristic of the traditional semantic similarity algorithm, and carries on expansion in three aspects:the power and the type of edge between concepts, the depth of the concept in ontology, finally proposes a synthesis semantic similarity algorithm. The algorithm fully utilizes the semantic information in ontology to improve the accuracy of services matching. In order to analyze and compare the performance of our proposed algorithms, we perform some experiments to these algorithms. The experimental rerults show that our proposed algorithm are feasible and effective,it can achive intelligent web services discovery based on user reuest.
