| Wireless Local-Area Network, or WLAN, is a combination of computer network and wireless telecommunication technology. Since WLAN uses high-frequency radio waves rather than wires as the transmission media, it performs as a supplement and extension of wire-connected LANs. WLAN technology has been developed quickly during these years. WLAN is well known for broad-band, easy to deploy, extend and maintain. With more and more mobile computer been used, more and more companies and individual had shown strong interest in this technology. Sometimes, WLAN can show a company's informatization level.This thesis researches how to design and construct a secure and high-efficiency WLAN with WLAN related technology and equipments. Especially, it argues about decisions on network plotting, modification, typical cases in practice, Voice over WLAN.The writer of this thesis has been preparing this thesis following professor Zhou Jie and Liu Jianming in Information Center of State Grid Corporation of China since the March of 2006. During this period, the writer participated in the whole process of feasibility research, project design, security scheme design, Lab test, construction, modification, analysis and technical support. At the same time, the writer also did comprehensive research on WLAN and relative technologies, encountered and solved many problems in practice.
