Due to the superior characteristics such as faster data transmission, lower power consumption and stronger anti-multipath interference capability, Impulse Radio Ultra-Wide Band (IR-UWB) communication technology has been considered as a hot topic in the development and research of current wireless communication field, and also been regarded as one of the key technology for wireless communication in the next generation. In Ultra-Wide Band communication system, the quality of time-hopping sequences, to a great extent, conditions the features of pulse position modulation (PPM) and pulse amplitude modulation (PAM). In reference to communication system, with time-hopping sequences should perform in perfect quality of correlation, namely, good auto-correlation and cross-correlation properties. On the basis of quadratic time-hopping sequences research, the thesis carries out analyses towards the correlation performances of general quadratic time-hopping sequences, cubic time-hopping sequences and hyperbolic time-hopping sequences successively, and in the mean time, comparisons of their communication qualities haven been undertaken. The thesis focuses on the design and realization of Ultra-Wide Band communication system simulation platform on the basis of quadratic time-hopping sequences. For the purpose of comparison, the thesis employs MATLAB7.0 software as emulation tool, and as a result, Ultra-Wide Band communication system simulation platform has been established for massive emulation experiments. Simulation platform channel makes use of multi-path channel model provided by IEEE802.15.3a team, and therefore, analyses as well as comparisons towards systematic qualities have been undertaken respectively with reference to different modulation scheme, under multi-user condition. The thesis carries out analyses towards the aspects of theories and simulations. Under multi-path condition, the thesis works out multiple access quality of Ultra-Wide Band communication system based on quadratic time-hopping sequences, and furthermore, simulation analyses have been performed in the thesis. Consequently, under the same modulation scheme, general quadratic time-hoppingsequences, due to the superior characteristics of auto-correlation as well as cross-correlation, possess the best quality of the bit error rate (BER). However, under PAM modulation scheme, systematic characteristics take superiority over PPM modulation scheme.
