Research About User Profile Of Personalized Search Engine

With the development of the computer technology and network technology, it provides more convenience for people to get access to the global information freely. At the same time, it also leads to information online grow explosively. Currently, all kinds of information media appear, and user demand is complicated. Solely relying on traditional search engines has not been able to meet the demand of the people. Traditional search engines' limitations of lacking the personality have become increasingly prominent, the research and realization of personalized search engine is inevitable. The user profile is directly related to the quality of personalized service. It plays basis and core role in personalized service. The user profile in personalized service system is not the general description of individual users, but an algorithm-oriented, with a specific data structure,a formal description of the user.According to the status that search engines is lack of efficiency and individuality. This paper mainly directs at discussing use profile. We can establish user profile by describing user interest. Only doing this, it can make search results meet user's needs effectively.Firstly, the paper proposes a problem about information overload, briefly describes the definition, process, supporting technology and service forms of personalized information service, then expounds personalized search engine and the main technical. In addition, from personalized analysis of user's information needs, the author studies on related issues, such as the user's information needs, information psychological, information behavior etc. In this paper, definition, classification, the methods of accessing information and the expression about user profile are discussed. Accordingly, the author proposes methods and technologies about personalized search engine on establishing user profile, such as Agent, users interested mining, machine learning, user feedback technology. Finally, writer takes readers interest research of digital library for example, establishing use profile of personalized information retrieval system, including its design and implementation. In the paper, some problems that require to be improved are presented at the end.
