| With the development of society and political culture as well as the constant growing of market economy, people's thoughts and value judgment are being changed constantly. In the field of news propagation, new problems, new phenomenon and new things are emerging at every moment.In recent years, a kind of media information provider called "People of giving news clues" (or news informants) has appeared in every city of our country. They offer various kinds of news clues by means of dialing news hot line, complaint phone, etc. which are specially opened by newspaper office, radio station and TV station, thus obtained certain remuneration. The remuneration generally includes two kinds of different value orientations: first, the economic benefits or fee for the information; second, seeking the help of the media, expressing one's own heartfelt wishes, meeting the hope of supervising and participating in the social affairs by oneself.The emergence of news informants is the result of interaction between the need of competition and development of the news media and the need of people's pursuit of the economic benefits as well as the need of realizing personal value. Its appearance and development relates to the whole society and the influence of politics, economy, culture and other factors. The news informants have injected vigor into the media competition, thus arouse the extensive concern of academia. In the past two years, several domestic articles have analyzed this phenomenon from different angles.On the basis of this, this paper thoroughly discusses the phenomenon of news informants through theoretical research and investigation on the spot, dividing the news informants and the audience in a new point of view, discussing the social cause of the news informants in detail and analyzing the position and function of news informants in the mass media mode. The author holds the opinion that the news informants are on one hand produced by detailed social labor division and the development of individual propagation technique which shows the rise of citizen's journalism, on the other hand, they are the inevitable outcome of the mass propagation process, which shows respect to news propagation theory and conforms to news propagation regularity. This paper also discusses the influence of the news informants to recent news system in our country from theoretical and realistic aspects. The appearance of news informants not only expands the media information source channel, meets the need of audience participation and enhances "three closeness" of news, but also establishes the trend ofpay-offnews and socialization of news making, remedies the deficiency of reporter's system and strengthens the social function of the media. Meanwhile, this paper aims at putting forward corresponding countermeasure to a series of problems caused by the social condition and quality of news informants. In the light of the discussion that whether news informants can become a profession, the author discusses the future trend of news informants and holds the opinion that during the period of society transformation, various kinds of jobs are changing rapidly with the progress of scientific and technology, so we should look at problem dialectically. To the media, news informants are firm and long-term teams to offer the material, and for news informants, it is a provisional and part-time job to a certain extent. Consequently, news informants will be existing as a loose community along with mass media in a long period and make due contribution to the development of mass media in our country. |
