Customization And Development Of Windows CE OS For TETRA Digital Trunking Terminal

With the development of TETRA digital trunking communication in our country, the requirement for TETRA digital trunking terminal will be increasing step by step.Recently, the TETRA digital trunking terminals, which are made by foreignmanufactures, are too expensive, and ordinary people can not afford them. Therefore, itis very important to develop TETRA digital trunking terminal which has independent intellectual property right.Embedded OS is an important part of TETRA digital trunking terminal. The TETRA digital trunking terminal based on Windows CE OS has good general availability and expansibility. The customization and development of Windows CE Embedded OS can satisfy any kinds of user's requirement.The thesis summarizes the TETRA trunking communication system and its characteristic, and the general software and handware framework of TETRA digital trunking terminal is given according to the practical requirement of Olympic Games. Windows CE OS is the core part of the software framework. The upper communication control software can interchange signaling with TETRA digital trunking protocol stack and control the flow of communication through the serial port which supplied by Windows CE OS. Windows CE OS uses its drivers to manage the hardware resources. In order to develop driver, the driver development template is selected according to the character of hardware resources, the codes of each function module driver are wrote and the codes of their driver are debugged by debug method of output serial-port message. The driver extended APIs are developed by the stream interface driver template and the I/O stream interface function. The Board Support Package is created by combining the developed drivers and the driver extended APIs with the boot programs and the OAL programs. The image of Windows CE OS is made by the Board Support Package in Platform Builder. The image is downloaded to the sample of TETRA digital trunking terminal. In the sample test process, the Windows CE OS works well and satisfies the design requirement completely.
