The P2P (Peer-to-peer) Streaming Media distribution system is very popular currently. It is playing a more and more important role in network applications. The RM (Real Media) media file of RealNetworks Corporation is one of the most popular media files on Internet. But due to the shortcomings of Streaming Media related protocols which lack the support for multiple media stream synchronization and that RealNetworks did not public source code of its media player - Real Player, it's difficult to share and distribute RM media files on P2P network. The contributions of this paper are:First, researched and analyzed the Real-time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) and Real Data Transport (RDT), successfully communicated with the RTSP server.Second, based on these two protocols, overcome the shortcomings of them, represented a new P2P streaming media distribution technology based on a quick abstract matching algorithm, solved the key problem in P2P streaming media system. We can support the distribution of RM media files on P2P network based on the research of this paper.
