Development Of Image Tracking System And Research Of Tracking Algorithms

Combined with"4KTD-170 Four-Axes Servo Turntable System"project, the thesis finishes the development of Image Tracking System and the research of tracking algorithms. Image Tracking System extracts a target from scenes, then after image segmentation and recognition, bias signal between target tracking point and the center of the scene is given. By using servo system, the system can implement real time tracking. Image tracking system uses DSP+EPLD structure. And the thesis discusses the hardware design, especially system circuit design, and introduces the tuning procedure of the system.After researching and analysing basic ideas of genetics and genetic algorithms, a fuzzy thresholding image segmentation method based on improved genetic algorithm is presented. And its simulation results and analysis are also given. Compared to the fuzzy thresholding image segmentation method based on traditional genetic algorithm, this algorithm has improved selection and mutation operation and can get much better results. Then the improved segmentation algorithm is applied to the centroid tracking algorithm of the image tracking system and the centroid tracking algorithm is disscussed. And the thesis also researches the correlation tracking algorithm in detail and provides some advice for improving it.
