Design And Implement The 3D Solid Modeling Module Based On ACIS

In the field of engineering design, the 3D Solid Modeling technology has been widely used, at the same time, the corresponding theory is becoming more and more mature. Parametric Modeling method based on features, which is very important in Solid Modeling technology, makes modeling more efficiently. ACIS is a prominent 3D modeling engine, which integrating wireframe, surface, and solid modeling in itself, supplies a geometric modeling platform for different 3D modeling applications.PrePost is a research project that founded by a famous CFD software company. This project gained requirements and technical supports of relevant fields from this company. Correspondingly, Graphic and Image & Data Multimedia Laboratory of Software Engineering Faculty of Chongqing University takes charge of researching and developing CFD pre-post software which has good interfaces to the CFD resolving server of the CFD software of this company. This software contains three modules: Modeling, Domain Parameter Setting and Post handling.This paper introduces designing and implementing solid modeling part in modeling module.In the process of designing and implementing solid modeling part, this paper analyzes ACIS solid modeling engine, explores and implements the routine for developing the 3D modeling function under the mechanism that taking ACIS as modeling engine, applying HOOPS Graphic Architecture, and companying with MFC; Researches Parametric and Solid Modeling based on features, further more, not only identifies and classifies the features in each Solid Modeling Operation, but also applies OOD concepts and practices the ACIS API functions and implements each Solid Modeling operations.At last, he implements a prototype of 3D modeling part of CFD pre-post software through a lot of exploration and practices.This paper aims to found a more rational structure, which is based on optimized data structure, at last implement parametric modeling for primitive, much more, make further exploration for parametric modeling for feature operation.
