As a research popular point, Granular-computing theory attractives more and more people over the world. Fuzzy set, Rough set and Quotient space are recognized as three different GrC theories. They have their own perspectives in solving problems, but all of them have a common characteristic that considers problems in different levels and has the similar of thinking like human being. This thesis deals with Granular-computing model and its application. The main research work includes:Firstly, this thesis presents a formal representation of concept, gives application example of Ontology language, and constructs a new model for granular computing. Some research popular points and difficult problems about Ontology are discussed at the same time. Several definitions are proposed, such as presentation of granularity, partition of classes, size of granularity, synthesis and decomposition under the defined model. Finally, an algorithm named GrC-Search for the model applying to the text retrieval is designed, and experients illustrate that it can reduce both time complexity and space complexity.Secondly, this thesis discusses the granular computing model in algebra...
