| Wireless Communication technology has brought tremendous convenience for people from its birth and promoted information exchanges and sharing of the world-wide locacations. Development of computer network and communication technology enables the wide application of video communication, such as video meeting, video telephone and HDTV etc. But the application of wireless video communication is often restricted by the contradiction between the huge amount of video data and the limited bandwidth of wireless channel, while on the other hand making video compression technology to become a hot research project.The brand-new international video compression standard H.264 is a new digital video compress designed for future IP and wireless environment. It has achieved a greater compression ratio than all the other video compression standards. And layer processing in algorithm of H.264 makes it adaptive to different channel environment, and enhances the efficiency of communication. H.264 develops motion picture compression to a higher stage, and has a huge potential and vast application foreground.This research is a part of wireless video communication project, and mainly focuses on video compression, video coding/decoding and wireless communication. This study includes several aspects as follow:(1) Detailedly studied on basic video compression principles and key techniques of video compression and wireless communication.(2) According to H.264, combined with application environment, my research realizes video coder and decoder based on both Windows and Linux system.This study achieves several progresses in video coding/decoding and wireless video communication base on H.264. It affords a reference and lays a foundation for deeper research of wireless video communication. |
