The modeling of realistic 3D virtual human and the motion control technology are hot research projects in the field of computer graphics. It plays a great role in virtual reality, film special effects, game design, and so on. With the development of computer technology, it will be more and more important in lots of applications. In this paper, the modeling of realistic 3D virtual human and the motion control are studied deeply. The paper includes four aspects. First, a butterfly subdivision scheme has been optimized for surface modeling. The scheme is applied to modeling of 3D human mesh and get a good effect. Second, fine-scale and large-scale wrinkles have been modeled base on a triangle mesh representing a body part. It improves reality of 3D virtual human. In the field of the motion control, the method of limited grads projection is used to simulate the motion of virtual human. It gets rid of lots of disadvantage of other schemes. Finally, path palnning and collision detection of 3D virtual human's motion have been studied and simulated in a environment with barrier.
