User interface (UI) is the importance constitutes part in man-machine system, and takes on the important responsibility in human-computer interaction. Human exchange information with computer software system by user interface. However because of lacking professional principle and method instruction of the interface design, cause some function strong but usage of the software products. Especially in some CAID software, because of the design problem of user interface, cause designer a lot of good creativities are hard to develop or die. Therefore, the researches of user interface have important function and meaning in the exaltation the whole function of the software system.Because the difference between mankind's behavior and computer's behavior exists, effective interface design will procure the human exchanging information with computer. But the traditional methods of interface design don't resolve the practical problems in human-computer system radically. The interface of designing usually lacks humanization. Therefore the paper brings forward "user-centered design" to design user interface.The method of user-centered design (UCD) assert the focus of design putting on the user, according to the mental model of user to accept the new product naturally, but force the user to rebuild new mental model. The basic thought of method is to put user at first while design every moment. And the research and comprehension toward the user are the decision basis of each design stage. The method of UCD is a streamline and systemic development method. It provide a kind of means which understand the related character of user, the work intents during performance mission, and the support of needed system, will produce important influence to the interface design of software product.The interface design is the newly field that many subjects cross. The paper will regard UCD as a guide, apply related theories synthetically, such as cognize psychology, ergonomics, computer information science, design esthetics, etc, carry on thorough research and analysis to the user interface of CAID system. With research of user's physiology, mental state and behavior characteristic, the paper summarize the factor of influencing human-computer interaction and the method of raising interaction efficiency with each other, then describe the CAID user model.
