Along with economic development, the competition of the product will have no longer limited to the price competition, the quality of the product becomes a main form of competition too. In the future competition, the product with low cost and high quality becomes a decisive factor that determine whether the business enterprise can survive in world, thus there is a outstanding effect that the product design means to the quality of the product. According to the data, the cost of the mass product is established mostly in the design of the product. The expenses of the actual devotion in design stage although occupy 5% of the cost of the product only, but it determines 70% of the quality and the total cost of the product, so the importance of the product design is obvious to cost and quality of the product, that is, the competition of the product is mostly determined by the product design.To improve product quality means to decrease the variation of the product capability. To guarantee the quality of the product, the enterprise can improve the parameter of the factors through improving the function of product material and subassembly. But it is impossible to realize. Firstly, this will increase the devotion of the enterprise and make the cost of the product higher. Secondly, it is also unrealistic to upgrade the performance of the material and decrease the variation of parameter of the material and subassembly infinitely. Therefore, the design method is most important in designing a new product. This method makes the function of the product insensitive to the parameter of the material and subassembly. According to this kind of leading idea, in last decades, one kind of engineering design method, which improves the reliability of the product, has been developed gradually. That is, the three stages design. By using this kind of design method, it makes the quality of the product stable and the cost low.Dr. Taguchi thinks that whether to design a new product or a kind of new craft, three stages design can be used, that is, the system design, parameter design and tolerance design. The basic thought of this method is an index sign to use orthogonal arrays to arrange the project, simulate all kinds of interferences using error factors, using the signal-to-noise ratios as the guideline for measure the quality feature and stability of the products and assemble the product which has good quality, low cost and stable capability using cheap components and subassemblies.The paper confirms each factor which has effect on the output function in temperature-rise design process of electronic component, select the superior parameters and then analyze tolerance of each parameter. Using the orthodoxy test to confirm the most outstanding factor which effect the output function, select the signal factor using mean deviations analysis, through modulating the tolerance of signal factor , enable the output function behave more stably, that result in making product at low cost and with high quality.
