Taking computer network as a carrier, the modern Distance Learning has provided a quick and convenience study way which breaks through the time and space limit for innumerable learners. But there exists some universal problems such as lacking of widespread resources cooperation, imperfectness of the Distance Learning standard, network isomerism and so on which make the education resources be reconstructed and not be shared in a wide range. The appearance of the grid technology make the problems become to be able to solve, because the essence of the gird is comprehensive resource sharing. Open Gird Services Architecture is the existing recognizable and standard grid service system and there would be a lot of practical significance to build an Education Resources Management System on it.This paper first covers the basic knowledge of the gird, the grid architecture and the key technology, after which the emphasis is put on the research about available Resource Management Model and the analysis of the existing Resource Locating Algorithm. On the basis of the analysis of the existing gird models, this paper proposes an Education Resource Grid Model which is based on Virtual Organization. And then this text designs four layers resource management model, provides the design principles, main functions of every layers and the relationships between each layer. Finally, according to the characteristic and classification of educational resources, this paper makes the demand analysis and systematic function designs, puts up the development environment and then realizes educational resource registering and locating functions, offers certain practical experience for Education Resource Grid system development.
