Nowadays, with the development of governmental informaionizaiton, e-government portal has become one of the hot topics in industry. Portal is so-called Web-based system, which provides single access to end applications and all kinds of resources from heterogenous sources, in order to meet the demands of gonvernmental informationization, and beomes the trends for integrating enterprise information and government information. In essential, Portal technology hes been developed into informationization management technique popularized in world wide, with features of customer-centered, applicaiton integration for e-gevoernment, personalized service, centrialized access.This theses depicts a lot about the principles of Portal, makes deep study on system architecture of E-govenrment portal, designs a portal framework, viz. Portal server, and on which, implements the solution to single sign-on and applicaiotns integration.The Portal framework implemented in this theses share characteristics as follows: excellent Portal page aggregation sperates contents and presentations. Service containor manages all kinds of services for portal functionalities, and distributes them in Portal server in form components, which makes it easy to add, delete, replace, and update service components. The application integration of this portal system integrates extral systems as module, which is controlled by system. Module is also a portalet application, whose life cycle is determined by portlet containor.
