Image Retrieval Technique By Texture And Color Based On MPEG-7

With the development of the multimedia network technology, the application of the image is extensive, the rapid increase of image application, Content-based image retrieval technology becomes most active one in multimedia retrieval field. In order to analyse color, texture, shape and other low-layer image feature, Extracting features from image is the key issue in CBIR. MPEG-7 was started as a solution to the normative description of audiovisual content. MPEG-7 relates the description with its content, and enables the effective and efficient query and access to multimedia content.This paper deals with the extracting image content, which is analyzed in detail. Research objective is the study of image retrieval based on MPEG-7. Some significant conclusions are drawn from this study. The major contents include:The extraction of texture descriptors is reported detailedly. The edge histogram descriptor is used in retrieval test and the performance is discussed.Based on extraction of the edge histogram descriptor, proposed the use of global and semi-local edge histograms generated directly from the local histogram bins and it obtains better retrieval effectiveness compared with the extraction, the improved effect is obvious.
