Ultra-wideband wireless technology has many advantages, such as low cost, small power consumption, high rate data transmission and strong anti-interference ability. It is considered to be the standard of the physical layer of wireless personal aera network of the future generation. The IEEE802.15.3a work group which establishs the physical layer standard of future generation wireless personal aera network has received many proposals about the ultra-wideband technology. These plans form two important plans through negotiating each other. The two important schemes are multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexing plan and direct sequence code division multiple acess plan. Because two plans are not mutually compatible in technology, the IEEE802.15.3a work group is falling in deadlock when it discusses the ultra-wideband technology. Because both sides have not achieved the IEEE authorization 75% voting rate, therefore ,neither becomes the ultra-wideband's standard.According to two plans physical level suggestion, The paper establishs two system modles using the Matlab software, analysis simulation result. Comprehensively compares two systems' performance which includes frequency width performance, cover scope, multipath energy collection, realization complex, power loss, anti-interference ability and so on. The result indicates that two plans both have the outstanding performance in certain aspect, the overall performance is equal, two plans' competition postponed the ultra-wideband standard appearing, only the market possibly decides the ultra-wideband 's standard at last.
