Weigh in motion is an essential technology in expressway management. And it is emerging in China. Compared with static weighing, the data obtained from dynamic weighing systems are different for different facilities and testing objects. This paper focuses on researching the axle weighing of weigh in motion. On the basis of atonement of sensor and a series of correction of weighing results, this paper brings in the vehicle recognizing expert system to adjust the error caused by different passing by speed, which is different from individual car to individual. And the precision of the system is highly promoted.Referring to a plentiful associate literature all over the world, this paper analyses the working principle of the sensors used by weighing, and compares the analog sensors with digital ones. Then we choose the digital to design the system, and make the temperature-zero compensation. A mathematic model is built after analyzing various kinds of digital filtering and processing the signal of sensor.Considering the affection of obtained axle weight caused by passing speed, this paper advances the conception of factor of axle weight redistribution. By counting with the factor, all the dynamic weighing result of axle weight will be transformed into the real static weight, then all the axle weight come to a gross weight. This factor varies from individual car to individual, so we use vehicle recognizing system to identify the car and gain its factor. On the basis of analyzing and feature extracting of a large amount of sampling data collected by loop sensors in expressway, this system relies on same characteristic value of the data, and considers the membership function to be its recognizing principles to recognize vehicles. And the results are used to adjust the weighing results.At last, the paper designs the management software and database. This part enhances the ability of communicating of the WIM system, and makes an interface with the ITS for information sharing in the future.
