Now quilting machine is one of the textile equipments widely used, and the needed number of quilting machine is tremendous, but the functions, precision and stability of domestic quilting machine cannot satisfy the need of market. At present, the level of textile equipments widely used in China are still in 1980s or 1990s, and the technology of equipments is very behindhand, the high-speed and high-precision equipments must be imported from foreign market and is especially expensive. Although the imported quilting machines have predominant capabilities, their price scares many away. Aimed at these problems, we have been exploiting the control system of quilting machine ourself, and have adopted the open structure of 'PC + Motion controller'.This paper introduces the essential principle of quilting machine and the whole design proposal. The structure of hardware circuit and the design for anti- disturbance are studied aim at the stability of the machine and the disturbance of the environment.Apply UML to the design of the software system, and analysis the function, structure and realization of both the host computer and the subordinate computer. The uses of UML not only make the whole design of software visual, systematic, easy to manage, and help to find out the problem in design to enhance the stability of the software. The normative and unified software design can enhance the communication between designers.Applying simulated annealing algorithm to design for path optimization of step can effectively shorten work time and improve work efficiency. And it can predigest the process of design because it makes designer pay more attention to the design of independent pattern and haven't to consider complicated step.In order to improve the precision of quilting machine, we mend the interpolation algorithm and speed-up and speed-down curve. Moreover, we apply the speed-up and speed-down control based on prediction and velocity matching based on interrupting mechanism to practical system, and obtain a good effect.
